Should Lindsay Lohan Go Back to Jail? Prosecutors Say Yes!

7 hours ago |  Online | See recent Online news »
Lindsay Lohan better have her ducks in a row tomorrow, because the other side is going to be gunning for her. The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office has determined that getting booted from her community service at the Downtown Women's Center constituted a violation of Lohan's probation, spokesman Frank Mateljan tells E! News. And yes, the suggested punishment will be jail time, he says. But Lohan probably doesn't have to worry about packing a bag just yet. Mateljan thinks it's highly unlikely that Lohan would be locked up tomorrow. "It will up to the judge to make the determination whether or not she feels that Linday is in violation, and if she does, then they »

Watch: Milla Jovovich says she isn't really a bad girl in 'Three Musketeers'

HitFix's Gregory Ellwood recently sat down with "Three Musketeers" star Milla Jovovich to talk about the upcoming big-screen reinterpretation of the classic novel, in which the actress plays the villainous, two-faced "Milady de Winter". During their chat the spirited Jovovich rose up to defend the 17th century bad girl, who she described as a "modern woman" stuck in the 17th century. She also spoke of her decision to have the character do battle in a variety of fabulous "30 pound" gowns (complete with corsets!), which she admitted may not have been the best idea in hindsight. The next installment of the »

Recap: Another couple bites the dust on 'Dancing with the Stars' in the 5th elimination

1 hour ago | see all
It's time for another elimination, and I have to say that I'm glad I didn't put money on this season (not that I ever do), as it's been one of the weirdest as far as the logic of who is staying and who is going. Chynna's out, Chaz is in, north is south, up is down -- I might as well try to wrap my head around tax law or the CW's program schedule. Anyway, let's get on with what is usually a long, drawn out night that rarely ends the way anyone expects it to. We start things off with »

Hollywood Elsewhere's Jeff Wells is championing Strand's Tyrannosaur and star Olivia Colman to such a degree that he has taken it upon himself to raise cash for a screening. He's soliciting PayPal funds for a screening room, and the dollars are pouring in. "I don't think any columnist in the history of Hollywood has ever tried to raise money to help others see a film (and particularly a performance) that he admires that the film's distributor won't or can't pay for," Wells wrote me. "I've got about $850 so far. (The drive began yesterday.) I need at least $1500, but $2000 would be better. Screening room rentals aren't cheap." »

Two Oscar winners join HBO's adaptation of 'The Corrections'

Fans of the bestselling 2001 Jonathan Franzen novel "The Corrections" have been teased with feature-film talk endlessly over the years - at different points both Stephen Daldry and Robert Zemeckis were attached to direct - until it was finally announced last month that the adaptation would be taking the shape of an HBO TV series instead. Now the project has nabbed one lead in two-time Oscar winner Dianne Wiest, with Chris Cooper in talks to star alongside her. The two would be playing Enid and Alfred Lambert, the central Midwest couple featured in the novel. The adaptation has struggled to make »

Backstage at DWTS: Wow. You Just Have to Hear How the Cast Really Feels About Tonight's Eliminee...

"Honestly, in all 13 seasons, we have never had anyone like him. Not even close." That's what Dancing with the Stars veteran Derek Houghhas to say about the star who got voted off tonight. So...Is that a good thing, or bad? And why are the judges talking about bringing him back? Can they actually do that?! Turns out, Carson Kressley, who became the fifth star to be eliminated this season, just might go down as the most-like contestant ever in the history of DWTS, at least according to his fellow cast and crew members. Calling him "our muse," "the glue the held us together," "the funniest guy I've ever met" and "the most genuine of anyone on the »

'Dancing with the Stars' eliminated contestant: 'When they played the montage, it was like I died!'

Carson Kressley may not have always earned the highest scores, but he certainly delivered the biggest laughs on Dancing with the Stars this fall. Too bad the guy who kept the judges and his fellow celebrities in stitches didn’t last to see another day under the mirror ball: Kressley, whose jive with Anna Trebunskaya: was called “a crowning achievement in madness” on Monday, became the latest contestant to live Dancing with the Stars. “At the end when they played the montage, it was like, oh my god I died!” Kressley told reporters after Tuesday’s results show. “I »

'Arrested Development' actress getting her own ABC comedy

Though you probably don't know her by name, you'll likely recognizeJudy Greer's face almost instantly. That's because while she's appeared in supporting parts in countless successful films ("The Wedding Planner", "13 Going on 30", "27 Dresses") and TV shows ("Two and a Half Men", "Arrested Development", "Californication"), she hasn't been as successful in cultivating a career as a leading lady. Nevertheless, Greer is giving it another go, with ABC currently putting the finishing touches on a deal that will see the actress producing and starring in her own half-hour, single-camera comedy vehicle to be written by screenwriters Deborah Kaplan and »

'Sons of Anarchy' - 'Fruit for the Crows': Juice in a box

3 hours ago | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »
A review of tonight's "Sons of Anarchy" coming up just as soon as I embrace the stereotype... "You don't have a normal life, baby. You have this one." -Gemma The sense I couldn't shake throughout "Fruit for the Crows" - for my money, the strongest episode of season 4 by a long stretch - is just how inescapable the box the various Sons have built for themselves. On the biggest level - and the one that drives Bobby to demand a vote for a leadership change - they're in bed with the cartel now, and while Romeo has been a useful »

From Cain to Bachmann: Which Gop Candidate Will Be the Next Sarah Palin?

Weep not for Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich and the rest of the candidates vying for the Gop nomination. Running for president may end up being the best business decision they ever made. It doesn't matter that pundits expect Mitt Romney to be the Republican choice.  After all, Sarah Palin's failed 2008 vice-presidential candidacy demonstrated that the loser can share in the spoils, too. Are reality TV shows like 'Dance Moms' destroying kids? Pt. 2

This is a continuation of a story that ran on Friday. To read the first half, click here.   "That can get ugly in adulthood."  While Kate Gosselinmay have initially seen television as a path to financial security instead of fame (although it can be debated that may have changed over time), mothers on "Dance Moms" and "Toddlers & Tiaras" hardly seem to be putting their kids first at any point in the process. "The argument behind these children being on these shows is that the parents say the kids want to do this," says Jennifer Powell-Lunder, author of Teenage As A »

Mandy Moore headed for the small screen in new single-camera comedy

ABC has bought a single-camera comedy starring Mandy Moore after a three-network bidding war. The network has given the half-hour project, in which the singer/actress will star as a young newlywed, a put pilot commitment, meaning there's a better-than-average likelihood the show will be picked up to series. Shawn Levy ("Real Steel") is attached to direct the pilot, with Bob Fisher ("Wedding Crashers") writing. The show potentially represents the first regular TV series gig for Moore, who over the last few years has been concentrating on a feature-film career that never quite took off. Maybe the small screen will be better »

Dancing With the Stars Elimination: Did Another Promising Dancer Get Picked Off?

4 hours ago | See recent Online news »
Kelly Clarkson on Dancing With the Stars next season? It probably won't happen, but Tom Bergeron was certainly persuasive as he assured tonight's first musical guest that, even though she can't dance like the pros now, "We'll teach you." But before we can bang the drum for Kelly, there are eight celebs to knock off before a mirror-ball trophy winner can be declared this season. Last night, J.R. Martinez was not surprisingly the best of the bunch, but former front-runner Ricki Lake dropped to the middle of the pack. Considering last week's elimination shocker, who knew what to expect Tuesday?! Well, actually, we kind of expected Carson Kressley and partnerAnna »
